Hurricanes is a video game for the Sega Game Gear console released in 1992. The game is based on the real-life sport of Rugby Union, and was one of the few rugby games available for the system. In Hurricanes, players take control of a team of four players and attempt to score more points than their opponents by scoring tries (touchdowns) and kicking conversions (extra points). The game features two modes: Exhibition Mode and Tournament Mode.

In Exhibition Mode, players can select their team from various international teams such as Australia, Canada, England, France, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. Up to four human players can join in with each other or play against the computer-controlled opponents. Players have full control over their team’s formation and tactics during matches, while they can also choose to pass or kick the ball around as well as tackle their opponents. The graphics in Hurricanes are simple yet effective; each player is represented by a small sprite that moves around the pitch according to your commands.

In Tournament Mode, up to eight teams compete against each other in a series of knockout matches until only one remains victorious. This mode allows for greater tactical depth as it allows you to switch between attack and defense depending on how well your team is doing at any given time. The tournament mode also has multiple difficulty levels which increase in difficulty as you progress further through the tournament.

Overall, Hurricanes is an enjoyable rugby game for the Sega Game Gear console which offers plenty of challenge and replay value thanks to its two different modes of play. While it may not be as sophisticated or visually appealing as some modern rugby games today, it still provides an entertaining experience that will keep gamers coming back for more.
