Bad Dudes is a classic side-scrolling action game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988.

Developed by Data East, the game puts players in the role of two streetwise brawlers, Blade and Striker, as they battle their way through eight levels of enemies to rescue President Ronnie from the clutches of the mysterious ninja clan known as The Dragon Ninjas.

The game begins with a cutscene that shows President Ronnie being taken away by the Dragon Ninjas.

After this, Blade and Striker are shown walking down a street in downtown USA when they overhear a newscast talking about how bad dudes are needed to save President Ronnie from his captors.

This prompts them to take action and set out on an adventure to rescue him.

Once gameplay starts, players take control of either Blade or Striker (or both in two-player mode) and battle their way through each level with punches, kicks, and other special moves.

As they progress through the levels, they will encounter various enemies such as rival street gangs, robots, ninjas and even mutated animals.

Defeating these enemies rewards players with power-ups that can help them reach higher levels quicker or give them extra lives.

In addition to regular attacks, players can also use special moves such as flying kicks or uppercuts to defeat their foes more quickly.

At the end of each level is a boss character that needs to be defeated before progressing further into the game.

These bosses range from ninjas wielding swords or nunchakus to powerful robots controlled by mad scientists.

Defeating these bosses requires skillful dodging along with careful timing of attacks in order to defeat them before they can damage your characters too much.

Once all eight levels have been completed, players must then face off against the leader of the Dragon Ninja Clan himself: Shadow Master Tohma! To defeat him requires quick reflexes and skillful use of special moves in order to come out victorious.

Once he has been defeated then President Ronnie is rescued and peace returns once again! Bad Dudes was well received upon its release due its fast paced gameplay along with its humorous storyline and cartoonish visuals which made it stand out from other action games at the time.

Its popularity also led it to spawn several sequels on different platforms ranging from home computers such as Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 to consoles like Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Bad Dudes remains one of Data East's most beloved games till this day thanks its tight controls and replay value which makes it an enjoyable experience for gamers old and new alike!
