Quest for the Shaven Yak starring Ren Hoek & Stimpy is an action platformer video game released for the Sega Master System in 1993. Developed by Sculptured Software and published by Sega, the game is based on characters from the popular animated television series The Ren & Stimpy Show.

The objective of the game is to help Ren and Stimpy collect pieces of a magical medallion so they can find and rescue their beloved shaven yak, Yipper. Players take control of both characters in order to traverse through five levels, each with their own unique enemies, puzzles and boss fights.

The first level takes place in a museum where players must avoid traps and leap over obstacles while avoiding or attacking enemies such as mummies and bats. The second level takes place on a pirate ship with obstacles such as swinging axes, rolling barrels and cannons that shoot cannonballs. The third level takes place in a haunted castle where players must make use of platforms to avoid traps such as spikes, fireballs and ghosts. The fourth level takes place in an underground mine where players must battle giant spiders and other creatures while avoiding pitfalls full of lava. Finally, the fifth level takes place inside an active volcano where players must battle various monsters while making their way up the side of the volcano towards Yipper’s rescue.

Throughout all levels, there are various items to be collected including coins that can be used to purchase power-ups at shops found throughout each stage. Power-ups include extra lives, invincibility stars which make both characters temporarily invincible as well as special weapons such as hammers which can be used to break blocks or stun enemies.

Quest for the Shaven Yak starring Ren Hoek & Stimpy is a fun and challenging action platformer suitable for fans of The Ren & Stimpy Show as well as those looking for some classic gaming action on the Sega Master System console. With its vibrant graphics, catchy music and enjoyable gameplay mechanics it stands out among other games released during this era of gaming history making it worth checking out if you’re looking for some retro gaming goodness!
