Toy Story is a side-scrolling platform video game released by Sega in 1995 for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive consoles. The game was based on the popular Disney/Pixar movie of the same name. The main characters are Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Hamm.

The plot of Toy Story follows the plot of the movie quite closely; Andy is having a birthday party and all his toys come to life when he leaves the room. Woody is jealous of Buzz Lightyear, who Andy has received as a gift, and so Woody hatches a plan to get rid of Buzz by sending him out into space with an RC car. However, when Woody discovers that Buzz is actually alive, he decides to save him from certain doom.

Players take control of either Woody or Buzz as they travel through five levels of play: Andy's House, Al's Toy Barn, Pizza Planet Arcade, Sid's House and Space Station XR-4. Each level consists of several stages which contain various obstacles such as pits filled with acid or electric fences that must be avoided or jumped over in order to progress further in the level. Enemies also inhabit each stage; these include toy soldiers, little green aliens and robots that must be defeated before reaching the end of each stage. Players can acquire power-ups throughout each level which help them defeat enemies more easily or increase their health bar.

The graphics in Toy Story are quite impressive for its time; bright colors and detailed sprites bring each level to life while catchy music plays in the background adding to the atmosphere. The controls are simple yet effective making it easy for players to maneuver their character around each stage while avoiding enemies and hazards alike.

Overall Toy Story is an enjoyable game that will appeal to both fans of the movie and those who enjoy classic side-scrolling platformers alike. With colorful graphics, catchy music and challenging gameplay it’s sure to provide hours of entertainment for gamers young and old alike!
