Paperboy is a side-scrolling platform game for the Sega Game Gear developed by Mindscape and published in 1992. It is based on the 1984 arcade game of the same name. The objective of the game is to deliver newspapers to customers along a suburban street while avoiding obstacles and hazards which threaten to slow you down or make you lose your papers.

The player takes control of a paperboy, whose mission is to deliver newspapers along his route in a limited amount of time. The game starts with an overhead view of the neighborhood, showing all available houses on the route (the number of houses varies in each level). As the player moves forward, they will have to dodge obstacles such as cars, dogs, skateboarders, and other hazards while trying to make sure that all houses receive their newspapers. If any house doesn't get its newspaper, it will be marked as 'missed' and will not count towards completion at the end of the level.

The player can pick up bonus items such as extra lives and bonus points scattered around each level. These bonus items appear either randomly or when certain conditions are met (such as delivering a paper to every house on the route). In addition, there are special bonus rounds at certain points during each level where players can earn additional points by throwing papers into windows or mailboxes.

At the end of each level, players receive a score based on how many papers were delivered successfully, how many windows were hit in bonus rounds, and how quickly they completed their route. Players also receive a grade at the end depending on how well they did; from F (very bad) to A+ (excellent). If players manage to complete all levels with an A+ grade then they will unlock an extra special stage featuring more challenging obstacles and enemies.

Paperboy for Sega Game Gear is an entertaining title that features simple yet addictive gameplay mechanics that appeal both casual gamers as well as hardcore fans alike. Its colorful visuals and catchy soundtrack further add to its charm making it one of best titles released for this system back in 1992.
