Frogger is a classic side-scrolling platformer game released by Konami in 1981 for the arcade and later ported to many home video game systems. The objective of the game is for the player’s frog character to get from one end of the screen to the other, while avoiding obstacles such as traffic and other hazards. The original arcade version was developed by Konami’s Hideki "Eda" Endo and Shigeru Miyamoto, who would go on to become famous as the creator of Nintendo’s Mario series.

The Super Nintendo version of Frogger was released in 1993, with updated graphics and sound. It follows the same basic premise as its predecessors – help your frog cross a busy highway and a raging river without getting squished or eaten, so that you can reach your home at the top of the screen. This time around, though, there are some new twists – you have to collect coins along the way for bonus points, and you can also find power-ups that will help you out.

The Super Nintendo version also features five different levels: Easy Street, Beachcomber Bayou, Wild West Rapids, Rocky Road Rapids and Big City Rush. Each level has its own unique layout, obstacles and enemies; for example, Easy Street features slow-moving cars while Wild West Rapids has more dangerous boulders rolling downriver. As you progress through each level you must help your frog navigate increasingly difficult terrain while avoiding various hazards such as snakes, alligators and angry birds. Collecting coins adds points to your score which can be used towards extra lives or continues.

In addition to these levels there are two bonus rounds: Bonus Round 1 involves collecting bugs within a certain time limit while Bonus Round 2 requires players to guide their frogs across logs without falling into water or getting hit by any obstacles. Successfully completing both bonus rounds unlocks an additional level called “Froggy Frenzy” which contains even more challenging obstacles than before.

Overall Frogger on Super Nintendo is an enjoyable game that still holds up today due to its simple yet challenging gameplay mechanics that require quick reflexes and problem solving skills. With its vibrant colors and catchy music it is sure to bring back fond memories for anyone who enjoyed playing it in their childhood!
