Spider-Man is a side-scrolling action platformer video game developed by Neversoft and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in 1995, and is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

The game follows Spider-Man as he faces off against some of his most iconic villains, such as Doctor Octopus, Venom, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Scorpion, Kingpin, and more. The player must use Spider-Man’s web-slinging ability to traverse levels and battle enemies. The objective of each level is to collect a certain number of items that are scattered throughout the level before time runs out. Along the way, Spider-Man will have to face off against various bosses from his rogues gallery.

The gameplay consists of two parts: platforming sections and combat sections. In the platforming sections, players must navigate levels using Spider-Man’s web swinging abilities while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Players can also collect tokens that give them extra lives or unlock special power-ups that can help them progress through the levels faster.

In combat sections, players must use their reflexes to defeat enemies with punches and kicks in order to progress through the level. There are also special moves available which can be used to take down multiple enemies at once or break through walls blocking your path. Additionally, there are bonus stages where players must complete a task within a limited amount of time in order to gain extra points or items that can be used in later levels.

Spider-Man features colorful graphics with detailed sprites for both characters and environments. The music is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh who has worked on other games such as Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

Overall, Spider-Man is an enjoyable side scrolling action platformer game for the SNES that stays true to its source material while providing fun gameplay mechanics and great visuals. Fans of superhero games or those looking for an old school action platformer should definitely check it out!
