The Super Hunchback is a classic platform game released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1991. Developed by Natsume and published by Taito, the game follows the adventures of Quasimodo, a hunchbacked bell-ringer from Victor Hugo’s novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame. As Quasimodo, players must traverse through five levels set in medieval Paris while avoiding dangerous obstacles such as falling rocks, collapsing bridges, and swarms of bats.

The game begins with Quasimodo being sent to retrieve four bells that have been stolen from Notre Dame Cathedral. After retrieving each of the bells, players must then make their way back to the cathedral while avoiding enemies and other dangers along the way. In addition to the basic platforming action, there are also several mini-games scattered throughout each level which add an extra layer of challenge to the game.

Super Hunchback features colorful 8-bit graphics and catchy chiptune music that capture the spirit of classic 16-bit platformers. The controls are simple yet effective; players use just two buttons (A and B) to jump and attack enemies. Players can also collect various power-ups such as invincibility stars or extra lives that help make progress through each level easier. There are also secret areas hidden throughout each level which provide bonus points when discovered.

The difficulty ramps up considerably as you progress through each level; however, this only serves to make victory all the more satisfying once you eventually reach your goal. With its charming visuals and addictive gameplay mechanics, Super Hunchback remains one of the most beloved titles on Nintendo’s Game Boy library even today.

If you’re looking for a classic platformer with plenty of challenge and charm, then Super Hunchback is definitely worth checking out!
