Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is an action-RPG game released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in 2002. Developed by Midway Games, it is a sequel to the 1985 arcade classic Gauntlet and its 1991 sequel, Gauntlet II. The game follows the same premise as its predecessors but adds a number of new elements, such as characters, weapons, spells, and monsters.

The story takes place in a fantasy world known as the Gauntlet Realm. It is divided into eight realms: Firestorm Peak, Frozen Highlands, Lava Lake, Mystic Mountains, Outland Deserts, Shadow Depths, Sky Islands and Wild Wilderness. Each realm has its own unique enemies and challenges for players to overcome. In addition to these realms are two other locations; The Tower of Souls and the Citadel of Chaos. The Tower of Souls houses powerful artifacts that allow players to gain access to the eight realms while the Citadel of Chaos holds evil creatures that must be defeated in order to progress through the game.

The main objective of Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is to gather all eight pieces of an ancient artifact known as the Gauntlet Talisman. These pieces are scattered across all eight realms which must be explored in order to locate them all. Along with this main quest there are many side quests available for players to complete which can reward them with additional weapons or items needed for their journey.

Players have a choice between 10 different characters each with their own unique skills and abilities; Barbarian Warrior, Dwarf Guardian, Elf Archer, Sorceress Mage, Jester Trickster, Valkyrie Paladin, Knight Warrior, Demon Slayer and Glove Master. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses which should be taken into consideration when selecting one for your party. Additionally some characters have special abilities such as increased health regeneration or higher damage output against certain types of enemies which can give them an edge over their opponents in battle scenarios.

In addition to characters each player can also choose from an array of weapons and spells that they can use against their enemies throughout the game world. Weapons range from swords and axes to bows and arrows while spells include fireballs, lightning bolts and ice storms among others that can be used both offensively or defensively depending on situation at hand. Players will also come across various magical items during their travels including powerful armor sets that grant additional protection against enemy attacks or healing potions that restore lost health points during combat scenarios etcetera..
