Wolf Child is an action platformer developed by Core Design and released for the Sega Genesis Mega Drive in 1992. The game follows the story of a young boy named Ryce, who has been cursed by an evil wizard to transform into a werewolf at night. As Ryce, players must traverse a variety of levels and defeat enemies using their wolf form’s enhanced strength and agility.

The game begins with Ryce being cursed with his werewolf transformation. He sets off on a journey to find the evil wizard who cursed him and undo the spell. Along the way, he encounters a variety of obstacles and enemies, including giant spiders, bats, snakes, and ogres.

Players control Ryce through various side-scrolling levels that require platforming skills as well as combat abilities. In his human form, Ryce can run faster than his wolf form but cannot jump as high or attack as quickly or powerfully. When transformed into a werewolf at night, however, Ryce gains access to special abilities such as increased speed and strength as well as the ability to climb walls and ceilings like a spider.

Throughout each level, there are various power-ups that can be collected to increase health points or give temporary invincibility or other bonuses. Players must also collect coins scattered throughout each stage in order to purchase items from shops found in some levels. These items range from health potions to special weapons that can be used against enemies.

Wolf Child is an enjoyable action-platformer with colorful graphics and challenging gameplay. Its unique transformation mechanic adds an interesting twist on traditional platforming games and provides plenty of replayability thanks to its multiple routes through each level. Though it may not have aged particularly well due to its simple controls and limited enemy variety, Wolf Child still remains an enjoyable classic for fans of old-school action-platformers.
