Front Mission - Gun Hazard is a side-scrolling shooter game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game was developed by Square and released in 1996. It is the first Front Mission game and one of the few SNES games to feature mechs, or giant robots.

Players take control of a group of pilots known as “Wanzers”, who are tasked with stopping a mysterious group called “The Legion” from taking over the world. The game features two modes: “Story Mode” and “Battle Mode”. In Story Mode, players progress through stages, fighting enemies and collecting items along the way. They can also upgrade their Wanzers by purchasing parts from shops scattered throughout each stage. In Battle Mode, players face off against other Wanzers in arena-style battles.

The graphics for Front Mission - Gun Hazard are fairly basic but still impressive for an SNES game. The backgrounds are detailed and colorful, while the player characters and enemy mechs have simple but effective designs. The music is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, who would later become famous for composing music for Final Fantasy games. The sound effects are also quite good, adding intensity to the action onscreen.

Front Mission - Gun Hazard is a challenging yet enjoyable experience that will appeal to fans of side-scrolling shooters and mech games alike. Its simple yet effective graphics and soundtrack make it a fun title to play even today. While it may not be as popular as some of Square’s other titles from this era, Front Mission – Gun Hazard still stands out as an underrated classic that deserves more recognition.
