Friday the 13th is an action-horror themed video game developed by Atlus and published by LJN for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1989. It was based on the popular horror film series of the same name, and follows the adventures of protagonist Jason Voorhees as he attempts to stop a group of camp counselors from escaping Camp Crystal Lake.

The game starts off with a brief introduction explaining the premise of the movie, before launching into the main gameplay. Players take control of Jason Voorhees as he stalks through Camp Crystal Lake in search of his prey. Along the way, he must avoid various traps and obstacles, such as bear traps, falling logs, and even rivers filled with piranhas. He also has to fend off attacks from wild animals like bats, snakes, and rats. As he makes his way around the campground, Jason must also battle various counselors who are trying to escape. In order to defeat them, he can use a variety of weapons including a machete, an axe and even throwing knives.

As Jason progresses through each level in Friday the 13th , he is also presented with various puzzles that must be solved in order to progress further into the game. These puzzles involve finding keys to open locked doors or using items found throughout Camp Crystal Lake in order to open new areas or gain access to special items such as bonus points or extra lives. There are also bosses at certain points throughout each level which need to be defeated before progressing further into the game.

At certain times during play, players can enter a cabin mode where they can restock their health and save their progress before continuing on their journey through Camp Crystal Lake. There is also an inventory system which allows players to store items for later use or trade them between levels for different effects depending on what item it is used on.

Friday The 13th is one of those classic NES games that still holds up today thanks to its exciting gameplay and atmospheric visuals that evoke feelings of dread and terror while playing it. It’s certainly not one for those who don’t enjoy horror games but if you are looking for something old school yet still fun then this is definitely worth checking out!
