The player takes control of Cupid as he navigates each level while dodging enemies and obstacles. The levels are filled with various platforms and ladders that Cupid must use to reach the end of each stage. Throughout the levels, Cupid can collect bonus items such as hearts which grant him extra points and extra lives. He also has access to a limited number of arrows which he can use to defeat enemies or activate switches in order to progress through the level.

The first four levels are set outdoors on various terrains including grassy hills, icy mountains and sandy beaches. The fifth level takes place inside a castle where Cupid must face off against a boss character before completing the game. At this point, if all of his arrows have been collected, Cupid will be granted an extra life as a reward for his efforts.

The visuals in Chubby Cherub are simple yet charming; featuring bright colors and cute sprites that help bring the world to life. The music is upbeat and catchy; providing an enjoyable soundtrack during gameplay.

Overall, Chubby Cherub is an enjoyable platformer that still holds up after all these years due to its fun gameplay and charming visuals. With five different levels full of varied enemies, obstacles and bonus items it provides plenty of challenge for even experienced gamers while still being accessible enough for newcomers to enjoy.
