Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue is a side-scrolling action-adventure platformer released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1993. Developed and published by Konami, the game is the third installment in the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, following Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (1991) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan (1992).

The game follows the same plot as its predecessors, as players take control of one of the four turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo) to rescue their master Splinter from Shredder. In order to do this they must travel through six different worlds on their way to defeat Shredder. As they progress through each world they must battle various enemies such as Foot Soldiers and robots while collecting items that will aid them in their mission.

Gameplay consists of a mix of traditional side-scrolling action-platforming alongside puzzle solving elements. Players can make use of items such as boomerangs and bombs to defeat enemies or solve puzzles. Alongside these items are special techniques that can be used to get past certain obstacles or reach out-of-reach places. As with other games in the series there are also mini games scattered throughout each level which can be used to earn extra lives or bonus points.

The graphics for Radical Rescue have been greatly improved upon from its predecessors with more detailed sprites and backgrounds, although some stages still feature pixelated graphics due to hardware limitations at the time. The soundtrack has also been given an upgrade with a variety of catchy tunes playing throughout each stage.

Overall Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue is an enjoyable action platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy that builds upon its predecessors whilst introducing new features such as mini games and special techniques that add extra depth to gameplay. It’s a great title for fans of classic side scrolling action platformers or those looking for something nostalgic from their childhood days spent playing video games on their Game Boy’s!
