Arcade classic No. 2: Centipede & Millipede for Nintendo Game Boy

Centipede and Millipede are two of the most beloved arcade classics of all time. Now, thanks to the wonders of technology, you can enjoy them both on your Nintendo Game Boy! Developed by Atari in 1980 and released to arcades in 1982, these two games have been entertaining gamers ever since. Both games feature similar gameplay, but with a few key differences that make them stand out.

In Centipede, you control a small character at the bottom of the screen while attempting to shoot down an ever-advancing centipede that moves from top to bottom. You must shoot each segment of the centipede as it moves across the screen or else it will reach the bottom and you’ll lose a life. You also have to dodge spiders, fleas, and other insects as they scurry around the board. The game ends when all lives are lost or if you manage to shoot down the entire centipede without losing any lives.

Millipede is similar to Centipede in its gameplay mechanics but with some changes made to increase difficulty and add more variety. Instead of just one centipede moving across the screen, there are now multiple millipedes that move faster than before and spawn more often. Additionally, there are new obstacles such as mushrooms and poison mushrooms which can either help or hinder your progress depending on how you use them. As in Centipede, spiders and fleas still appear sporadically throughout the game but now they move faster making them harder to avoid or shoot down.

The Nintendo Game Boy version of these two classic arcade titles is faithful in its recreation of both games while taking advantage of some unique features found only on Nintendo’s handheld console. The graphics have been updated for clarity so that players can easily distinguish between enemies and obstacles onscreen while playing either game. The sound effects have also been improved so that they accurately replicate those heard in their respective arcade cabinets while playing at home on your Game Boy system!

Overall, Centipede & Millipede for Nintendo Game Boy is an excellent way for fans of these classic arcade titles to relive their childhood memories while enjoying some modern updates such as improved visuals and sound effects. Its faithful recreation of both titles makes it easy for newcomers to quickly learn how each game works while providing veterans with plenty of challenge due to its increased difficulty compared to its original versions found in arcades many years ago!
