Each level has its own set of objectives which must be completed before moving onto the next level.

In Morticia's Room for example, Pugsley has to search for her lost items such as her hairbrush and lipstick while avoiding Thing who is trying to capture him.

Throughout all levels there are bonus rooms which can be entered if certain conditions are met; these bonus rooms contain extra lives or power-ups which can help Pugsley on his quest. The graphics in The Addams Family: Pugsley’s Scavenger Hunt are quite basic but still manage to capture some of the atmosphere from the show.
