Armorines – Project S.W.A.R.M.

is a side-scrolling action game released in 2000 for the Nintendo Game Boy Color handheld system.

Developed by Acclaim Studios Austin and published by Acclaim Entertainment, Armorines – Project S.W.A.R.M.

is based on the comic book series of the same name which was published by Valiant Comics from 1994 to 1996 and later rebranded as “Valiant Extreme” during its last run from 1997 to 1998.

The game follows the story of an elite military force known as the ARMORINES (Advanced Recon Mission Oriented Research Infantry Network Elite Squadron), who are tasked with rescuing a group of scientists from a mysterious alien race called the Swarm, which seeks to use Earth's resources for their own nefarious purposes.

Players take control of one of four different ARMORINE soldiers, each with their own unique abilities and weapons, as they battle through seven levels against hordes of alien enemies and various bosses while attempting to rescue the scientists and save Earth from certain destruction at the hands of the Swarm forces.

The game also features power-ups that can be collected throughout each level that can be used to upgrade your character's weapons or provide additional health points or armor upgrades, allowing players to customize their characters as they progress through each level of play.

Gameplay in Armorines – Project S.W.A.R.M is fairly straightforward; players must traverse seven levels filled with hordes of alien enemies while attempting to rescue scientists scattered throughout each stage, all while fending off attacks from both ground troops and aerial support forces sent by the Swarm forces in order to stop them from achieving their goal of saving Earth from certain destruction at their hands.

Players have access to a variety of weaponry including machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades, flamethrowers and more in order to fight off enemy forces as they make their way through each level while evading traps set up by the Swarm forces along the way in order to reach their ultimate objective: destroying the hive mind responsible for controlling all Swarm forces on Earth before it can successfully launch an attack on humanity itself! The graphics featured in Armorines – Project S.W A R M are quite good considering its age; sprites move fluidly across screen with plenty of detail put into them so as not to detract too heavily from overall gameplay experience despite some occasional slowdown due to higher enemy count or intense firefights taking place on-screen at any given time during play sessions; backgrounds are also quite detailed and feature various environmental hazards that can be used against enemies such as explosive barrels or pools of toxic waste that will cause damage if touched by either player or enemy alike! Overall, Armorines – Project S W A R M is an enjoyable side scrolling action title that offers up plenty of challenge thanks to its solid enemy AI and varied arsenal available at player's disposal throughout gameplay sessions; those looking for a quick fix when it comes to handheld gaming should definitely consider giving this title a try as it offers up plenty of replay value even after many years since its initial release on Game Boy Color back in 2000!
